Obituary
Funeral Services for Billy J. LaFevers, 72, of Milburn will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Milburn with Rev. Alvie “Skip” Perkins officiating, assisted by Rev. Darrel Health. Interment will follow in the Bold Springs Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard. Mr. LaFevers passed away on Sunday, January 24th, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant.
Billy was born on January 22, 1937 in Milburn to W. H. “Dick” LaFevers and Thelma Goodman LaFevers. He attended Milburn Schools and later Murray State College. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and after his discharge, married Clarice Perkins on October 4, 1958 in Durant, Oklahoma. Billy operated a filling station in Milburn for several years and later worked for the Oklahoma State Highway Department, from which he retired.
He was preceded in death by his father; his son, Stephen Lynn LaFevers and two brothers, Harlie and Kenneth.
Billy is survived by his wife Clarice, of the home; two sons, Duane LaFevers of Port Neches, Texas and Alan LaFevers & his wife Sheila, of Kaplan, Louisiana; his mother, Thelma LaFevers of Milburn; three brothers & sisters-in-law, Wendell & Janie LaFevers of Milburn, Pat & Bobbie Lou LaFevers of Tishomingo and Mike & Bobbie Jean LaFevers, also of Tishomingo; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Elaine Hogue of Milburn, Janet LaFevers of Milburn and Nancy & Jim Altom of Pauls Valley; grandchildren, Jamie Rice, Amanda Black, Erica Burroughs, Kristin McMichael, Kimberly LaFevers and Brittney LaFevers; great-grandchildren, Braxton Bivins and Harlin Rice; other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers & Honorary Bearers will be: Jeff LaFevers, Kyle LaFevers, Craig Hogue, Wade Whittington, Gene Perkins, Jr., Marion Paris, Ken LaFevers, Kirk LaFevers, Jason LaFevers, Cody Hogue, Michael Branch, David Altom and Moochie Perkins.
A Family & Friends Hour will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-7 pm at the funeral home.
