Frankie passed away on July 23, 2013, after a two-year battle with ovarian cancer. She died surrounded by family and friends in her Winchuck River home, where she has lived for the past 57 years.
Frankie was born to Joseph and Ethel McGill in Ardmore, Okla. She was the sixth of eight children.
the family moved to Southern California in the late 1930's after the death of her father. It was there she met her future husband, Roy Liles, and they were married following World War II. After the birth of their first three sons, they moved to property on the Winchuck River in Brookings, in 1956. In 1962 their forth son was born and they started Liles Dairy, which operated until mid-1973. She enjoyed various crafts, cooking and outdoor activities. She blessed many people with her talents.
Frankie was a born-again Christian, and was very active the First Baptist Church in Brookings, and later Smith River Baptist Church in Smith River.
She was preceded in death by her paarents Joseph and Ethel McGill, husband Roy, brothers Dallas and Ellis, sisters Mildred, Zula and Troy. she is survived by her sister Mary Wright of Albany; brother Sterling McGill of Oklahoma; foster brother Chuck Yamaki of Santa Monica, Calif.; sons Roger (Chris) of Brookings, David (Kitty) of Albny, Mike (Kristy) of Portland, and Joe of Medford. She is also survived by grandchildren Tami (Bill) Petty, Amber Mulka, Ericka (Daron) Hargis, Tawni (Kent) Sandquist, Trent Liles, Ashra (Conrad) Coffey, Shana (Ryan) Keys, Lacy(Jeff) Hart, Garrett Liles, Leon Parker and Daniel Liles; and great-grandchildren Brittney, Kerri, Megan, Derik, Daylon, Jade, Kashka, Kyler, Toriana, Falicity, Quintin, Rhys, Alonna, Sydney, Keegan and Kyland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (July 27) at Ward Memorial Cemetery, and a memorial service will be held at 3 this afternoon at Smith River Baptist Church.
