Sterling Alvis McGill May 13, 1935 - August 7, 2013
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 16th, 2013 at 2:00 p. m. in the Clark Funeral Chapel for Mr. Sterling A. McGill, 78, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Bold Springs Cemetery, north of Milburn, Oklahoma. Mr. McGill passed away on August 7th, 2013 at his home.
Sterling was born on May 13th, 1935 in Ravia, Oklahoma to Joseph Franklin McGill and Ethel Minta (Coffman) McGill. He lived and worked in Oklahoma and California. He managed a large Aerospace Company and traveled to Europe on business. Sterling enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting and sailing his sailboat in the waters off California’s coastline. When he retired, he moved to Nevada, then Oregon. In 2010, he returned to Tishomingo to be close to family and friends. “Mac” as his friends called him, was a man of character. He was honest and true and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Carol Ann (Cowart) McGill and Caprice (Baltzar) McGill; and his siblings, Mildred Hathaway, Dallas McGill, Troy Rhea, Elis McGill, Zula Locke and Frankie Liles.
Sterling is survived by: his son, Scott Allen McGill and wife Sandra Ann of Northridge, California; three daughters, Cheryl Kay Wilson and husband James of Tishomingo, Whitney Lynn McGill and Nicole Ann McGill, both of Dayton, Nevada; grandson, Daniel Scott Netzel and wife Sara Ann of Creswell, Oregon, grandson, David Andrew Netzel of Yosemite, California, granddaughter, Danielle Louise McGill & grandson, Ryan Sterling McGill, both of Northridge, California; granddaughter, Julianna Wilson of Tishomingo; great-granddaughter, Allison Rae Netzel of Creswell, Oregon and great-grandson, Dante’ Sterling McGill; his sister, Mary Wright of Albany, Oregon; mother of his children Scott and Cheryl, Martha McGill-Kirk of Tishomingo; many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
